Temple University Acquires Informant's DispatchMonitor January 28, 2007 Temple University originally acquired Informant's records management system in 1999. In 2000, working in conjunction with the CAD vendor of the City of Philadelphia Police Department, Informant Technologies developed a software application which enables Temple's Informant RMS to interface with the Philadelphia Police Department’s CAD system (the Informant CAD Interface).
The interface automatically provides Temple with details of a dispatch made in response to a call for service within seconds after it is entered into the Philadelphia Police CAD system. This collaborative effort between Temple and the Philadelphia Police was recognized at the time as the first of its kind in the nation. In early 2007, Temple also acquired Informant’s DispatchMonitor (the company’s CAD system). In light of the pre-existing arrangement with the Philadelphia Police, Temple will not be utilizing DispatchMonitor in the conventional way, but will be using it to review recent incidents that occurred around all the Temple campuses.
Informant is pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Temple University’s campus police department over the past eight years to help it develop and implement solutions that are able to meet its special and evolving needs.
